A few weeks ago I went on a girls trip to Carolina Beach, NC. It was rainy while we were there, but we still had a blast! So of course I am excited to share all of the best places to stay, eat, and play at!
We stayed in the cutest little cottage just across the street from the beach. It was two bedrooms, one bath, and pet friendly! They also have a bed and breakfast next door. You can find more about it here.
Crush & Grind is the cutest rustic little coffee shop! They have a nice variety of coffees and an adorable set up. It is conveniently located along the boardwalk. Find more here.
Some of the best donuts I have had came from an unplanned stop. We were walking along the boardwalk and smelled something amazing. As we got closer we noticed the line out the door and we just had to try it. Britt’s Donut Shop was AMAZING. Very light and fluffy and just the right amount of sweet. Find their website here.
Ok, be prepared to drool. The Southerly is mouthwateringly delicious! I have been craving my biscuit sandwich ever since. They make homemade biscuits and turn them into the yummiest brunch sandwiches. HIGHLY recommend! Find them here.
Just a couple of stores down from The Southerly is a candy and ice cream store called Scoopin Yummies. They have the biggest selection of salt water taffy. I can never pass that up! They have just about any candy or soda you could be looking for while on a vacation. I did not get a chance to try the ice cream, but they definitely had a nice selection of flavors!
Another place along the board walk is Carolina Smokehouse. It has been featured on Food Network, so of course we had to give it a try! We ordered drinks, nachos, and shrimp jammers! Everything was great, but my favorite were the shrimp jammers. They are similar to jalapeño poppers, but with shrimp! YUM!
Surf House Oyster Bar was probably one of my top favorite visits of our trip. The food was incredible, the service was amazing, and the decor was so cute! I have never thought you can put a farm house and beach look together, but they did it and I loved it! We ordered all sorts of yumminess here. I also got to try a raw oyster for the first time and I was surprised that I actually enjoyed it! Highly, HIGHLY recommend going to Surf House.
Another nice coffee shop that is actually just a quick walk down the road from the cottage is North End Cafe. It is a quick place to grab your coffee and breakfast to go. It is right across the street from the beach!
Where to Play:
We went on a guided kayaking tour one of the mornings we were there and it was so peaceful and relaxing. It is the perfect calm exercise for your trip. The tour is within Carolina Beach State Park. We were able to kayak a little ways, stop for a mini hike, and then kayak back. It was beautiful! I did not bring my phone with me so I unfortunately do not have any photos.
Of course there is also walking along the boardwalk. It was filled with shops, restaurants, and rides. It would be perfect for any day.
And obviously there is spending time at the beach as an option. We did not spend any time at the beach specifically. It rained almost our whole time there. But the beach is definitely beautiful and definitely a must see!
That concludes our trip! I hope you enjoyed! I can’t wait to share the next trip I have planned.
